Commonly known as "6 x 6", this 1 1/2 ton truck was second only to the Jeep in familiarity. More than 560,000 were
built during WW2. The trucks were both open and closed cab and produced in two wheelbases. They were developed at the start of WW2 from commercial truck models. Some were even built with a
"joint" in the middle frame so that the truck could be broken in half for air transport. The reliable ohv 6 developed 91 hp. A 5 speed transmission with a transfer case gave the
truck 10 forward gears.
